Hmmmm

Meeting 1 and 2 were eventful in respect to coming together and findinga common theme but still very unclear as to how we shall deliver/construct our product. questions of who? when? where? to deliver to are an issue at present. Desrie and Becky have both found thought provoking posters. Can we incorporate them?

Meeting 3 has now narrowed it to produce a web page which will get the young people off the computers and out in their communities to access services. contradiction is we are using the very tool we wish them to leave to grab their attention. How many hours do young men and women spend each week on facebook, BBM, PS3 or XBOXlive? too many fantasy sites around (sims) that allow young people to slip into. Some consiously others not so, how do they eventually distinguish between reality and fantasy, make yourself a sexy, rampant pornstar girlfriend on a cyber site and create you as a buff, tall guy in your alter ego and where does it begin and stop?

Meeting 4, we tried so hard to source this draft, but with very little direction, we were unsure. I have kept notes on all the meetings and put together a proposal for Lin, unsure of whether we are on the right track or not, or whether our product is viable.

Proposal draft

Well intitially I thought Diversity of some kind, incorportaing more cultural differences and learning disabilities. Or perhaps young women and producing a pack on building self esteem 'be happy in your skin'.
After batting ideas around with Becky and Des we decided on friendship?? but how do we tackle it? how will we present it? where do we even begin?

I had every intention to do the draft and background research on holiday (leicester half term) but due to unforeseen circumstances that did not happen. We met as a group in Demontfort library where Becky produced a picture of crayons, in which we could approach our project. the thinking behind it being we are all different but can all fit in one box!!

Unsure that we have the right aspesct of this module down, so i took the idea's from the others and created a document to submit after  they had proofed it.

I feel we shall work well as a group, we share similar ideas, ideologies, morals and ethics.
we need to get on the research and reading.
I think this is the module that we have had the least input on......only time will tell if submission is good enough.

Identity and community is sounding so exciting, passion will be drummed up here, finding out new information, exploring new avenues, expanding horizons hmmmmmmmm let it begin.

Negoiating
Well second year starts here and I am thinking of several different ideas for the negoiating module.
My first thought was Diversity and acceptance, young people living in small towns and villages.
Secondly, young women's work, positive promotion, careers.
Thirdly, Learning Disabilities inclusion and integration in society and the acceptance they deserve.

This negoiating module seems disjointed and Lin has a totally different working/delivery style to what we have had before. i am sure it will all slot in pretty soon.

Managing
This module was interesting meeting Bob who is very wise and still has his passion. I like his way of teaching. Three modules all launched within the first few weeks is mad, crazy, definately a reason to be organised this year. Respite and Youth support may have to take a back seat so I can achieve what I want this year. we shall see. FOCUS!!!!
